Soweto Tour Route
Tours such as Soweto tour, we enter Soweto via the upmarket area called Diepkloof Extension where some of the houses can cost in millions. In contrast we then visit the large hostel in the area which used to accommodate single gender migrant labourers. We drive through the ‘Twin Towers’ which used to supply electricity to the north of Johannesburg. The tour passes the beautiful Mall named after the first black millionaire Richard Maponya. Clients get a chance to walk around Kliptown squatter camp which was developed in 1903. Today the residents are still living in a poverty-stricken environment.
